STEAM_0:0:71487010: STEAM_0:1:155935829 Explain what happened: Ok some alien rdmd me so i called a sit. The staff member checked logs and said the alien should of been banned but he said he would jail him as a warning. he then returned me. I would of recorded the sit but my shadowplay messed up so i called another sit and asked why he wasnt banned. Then the videos start Evidence (screenshots, video, chat log, etc. This is required!) Slippy Slappy Posted January 23, 2020 Share Posted January 23, 2020 -Support As I told you in game, he's been jailed for RDMx3 because you wanted him jailed and he needed a punishment, but I also included your 1 death that was created by him since you died 1 time to him, including two others that I saw on logs about him RDMing without doing the peace is over. I also told you I specifically did that so he wouldn't get banned for the reason of not knowing to advert, which means i gave him chance and a good warning if he does it again, if he did not follow, he could then be banned for the reason. It was a chance to give him a punishment instead being a ban because our rules aren't pop ups to people who join the server. Also if there was more people who made tickets of him RDMing, then the ban would be immediate, but since you were the only one, i counted your death towards him. HundredBands Posted January 23, 2020 Share Posted January 23, 2020 - Support I'm going to have to - support this because Slippy did the right thing by giving this guy a second chance, he was most likly new, and I run into people as Alien being killed over and over so they don't know why and they think it's just normal, they hide the job description and they might not read that the job is KOS, so they just start killing people back. Unless the guy was being mingy than I don't think he should be banned, I think a 10-15 min jail and told to read the !motd would've been the best punishment for him. This bias would be him being new and wanted to give him a chance which why you should have banned him for the time required. I understanding your reasoning but a ban is a ban. An extreme example but a one that proves the point if someone crashes the server purposely and Miskie is like, "Hey, this is your first time doing this do not do this again." This would be unreasonable. Ok, next point you should have avoided this sit because there was other staff on at the time and your had previous encounters with this player and to keep the trust of the staff team this would have been the best move. The concluding act: I count 10 counts of RDM, 1-2 FailRP. These numbers might be off because I do not have damage logs to see if the KOS Alien was shot at first or he just caught the other users off guard. Also not sure how it takes 30 seconds to advert False to a peace is over but ok. What I can not excuse is him not calling over for his peace is over when finally truly adverts it. So at the very least this would of been a 1 day ban at the minimum. I am simply taking the 3 counts of RDM that Slippy Slappy got and adding the FailRP of not adverting over. Yea, but that's not like what you and I are not trying to prove, crashing the server is no matter an offense but things like this should be settled with chances when it comes to new people and rules not being a pop up on their screen. I dont see him causing an huge offense towards the server itself since it was people who shot him most of all, which is no matter the rule to retaliate to the players regression on that RP; also that Peace is over thing was from him doing it within the sit because i told him about what to advert and what to do, even when you have a cooldown whenever youre the alien job. But i also want to say previous encounters do not matter to me, it only matters to what the ticket is for and i have the responsibility to choose of what the situation is if i am given that permission. Techno Kitty Posted January 23, 2020 Share Posted January 23, 2020 - Support in favor of slippys actions i believe if the person really did not know the rules and was being sincere then the jail was adequate and gave the guy time to read the rules This is what i would have done when i was staff. not because i was biased towards anyone but because if someone genuinely does not know the rules and is understanding in what they did wrong then they should be given a chance to learn the rules + Support in favor of the Accuser That being said if someone has surpassed the rules broken to be jailed you are not supposed to jail or warn them you have to ban no matter what. I do not believe that slippy deserves a strike or anything for his actions. also the evidence is pretty bad and i dont understand what you thought he did all ive gotten out of this is Rdmx3 so the punishment is correct as far as i can see. Plus it looks like it was only going to be a one day ban. I understand if it was going to be a longer ban jailing for just 15 would be too little but what he did I think is completely fine. Buttered Roll Posted January 25, 2020 Share Posted January 25, 2020 I ain't gonna cap, I haven't watched any of the videos, but from the comments it seems as though the staff let a newer player off with a warning for a bannable offense. Though I am in favor of acting this way, not banning someone should only be done if the person affected (the victim in the sit) allows it / doesn't mind. In this case, crowbars clearly cares, so the staff should have made sure he didn't mind ahead of time. If you are going to bend the guidelines to not ban someone, which, again, is the right thing to do in some cases, you have to face the repercussions. + support Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
