Explain what happened:

I joined the server and decided to do my underground dark base that many people can't find. I informed Ching Chong of how it was setup because it may appear to be propblocked. It's not. Ching Chong decided to raid my base with a friend after I inform him of this. He killed me and I returned with his permission to show him where the printers were and allow him to take the money without destroying them. At first he extorted me in-character, asking for 100k or else he'd destroy my bitcoin miner. At first I refused because that's just a dick move. I killed him because I believed the 5 minute NLR timer was up, but it turns out it was only four minutes through. He then proceeds to extort me out of character, saying that if I don't give him 100k then he will jail me and take my bitcoin miner. I gave him the 100k and he left. I only gave it to him because I'd prefer to not lose a bitcoin miner by being jailed. He then raided a base only two minutes after raiding mine. Later he comes back raiding me and destroys my bitcoin miner. Unfortunately the video audio from the game is terrible but you can probably tell from what's going on through the video and my voice.

These first two videos show the actual situation. I apologize for the background audio, was watching DS9 on Netflix and for some reason Shadowplay doesn't mute it.

This next video shows him asking for 100k or else he'd jail me and presumably blow up my bitcoin miner. You can see that he switches to admin mode while extorting me. "Give me the money and you won't be jailed, alright?"

Here's Ching Chong coming back to destroy my bitcoin miner.

I did break NLR and I was in the wrong for that. Here is an SS of me breaking NLR just for the record.

 

 

In the end, I think Ching Chong was definitely in the wrong here. I would appreciate it to have my money compensated. I also do not believe that Ching Chong is fit to be a staff member if he is going to be breaking rules and extorting players.

This looks like a good amount of evidence. I'll wait for Ching Chong to reply, but already, as far as I know, asking for $100k instead of jailing them is not really ok. Also, he brought a medic along to the raid, which is also not allowed. Haven't seen much evidence of him raiding just two minutes later. Him coming back to destroy your bitcoin miner seems like a dick move, but I'm not really sure if that's against the rules even after you paying $100k (again, I'm not sure, I might be wrong).

You must wait 15 minutes before raiding the same base. If Ching Chong came back within 10 minutes of which the raid was called then it was a true raid. However, if the raid was called off and he didn’t wait 15 minutes/or lasted longer than 10 minutes then it was indeed a false raid. Medics are not allowed to raid and using staff powers to gain an in character advantage is pure abuse. Whether it was a joke or not the action was still carried out in which he gained in character profit from utilizing staff powers.

I’m going to put it bluntly: the entire way that the staff member in question handled the sit was embarrassing. Not a hint of professionalism nor care. At this point I really hope he was the only staff on the server at the time because he took his own sit.

Oh yeah i forgot all about this? someone screen shotted this lol? I think he was meming me as we were in a discord call and unjailed me after. I honestly didn't really care but technically its still abuse.

Him coming back for the bitcoin miner depends on whether he waited the raid nlr time or not, which isn't really clear in this video. I'd really like more staff opinion on this.

He raided at around 4:00 PM my time. I left my house at 4:15. Definitely wasn't 15 minutes. I don't have any proof though.

There's no rule against extortion. There's no proof another staff member was on at the time of this happening. You broke NLR, he went to you, and offered you a way out. That's a generous offer for somebody applying to be staff. At least in my eyes it is. I hold no bias towards either side, but it seems like you're intentionally trying to put him in a bad light simply because you got raided and couldnt handle that. Please correct me if I'm wrong though.

So you're saying that staff should be allowed to ask for in-game currency in exchange for not being punished? Not only is this encouraging getting away with rule breaking, it also gives the players an unfair advantage as the staff are gaining money from an out of character situation.

Morals mean absolutely nothing in this scenario. Facts are what matter. Here's a fact. You broke NLR and dodged a jail. Count your blessings while they last. He's gaining an in-character advantage by threatening to jail (an admin-only power) unless I give him money. How is that not abuse of power? If he had only said that he'd destroy my miner if I hadn't paid, then this wouldn't be an issue.

Ok now for what I got to say 100k was for the guns I lost when you NLRed me I thought this was fair since he broke the rules and made me lose my weapons doing so,if he can pay back for what he made me lose it would be fair if I didn’t jail him.Me raiding him a second time wasn’t breaking cooldown since I waited more than 15 minutes.

I don't see any hard evidence on the fact that he broke raiding rules. The only thing I see here is the fact that the staff member did metagame whether extortion is a rule or not. That's really all I have to say.

And like I said, I don't have any way of proving that it was less than 15 minutes, so I can't attest.

 

The level of unprofessionality that you show from handling your own situation and telling me to give you money to avoid punishment is appalling and truly puts a bad light on the staff team.

Damplips hasn't stated he was online at the time of this going down. He also can't provide proof that he was online unless he himself comes out and says it.

Also the 100k was for the lost guns.

Damplips has not commented yet, so I wouldn't recommend jumping to conclusions.

How in the world would you know if it was for the lost guns? This especially makes no sense, since it was the exact amount of money he said before, plus, he said nothing about guns or anything.

No, we read it. The 100k was requested before I had even killed him, he just changed the purpose of the 100k. He was originally asking for upwards of 250k if you check chat but he lowered it.

It makes perfect sense and it's used as a bargaining tool a lot. I've been offered the chance to receive x amount of money in exchange for the jail they'd receive before I was staff.
